John Mitchell for England rugby coach

Sorry, one other sporting comment....we should try and get John Mitchell as the new rugby coach. There is 2 months til the Super 14 starts so England could get him now...he did a great job as assistant coach, and he did a great job for the All Blacks til 2003 - I couldn't believe they sacked him just because of a lucky interception try by Australia in the World Cup semi final.

I'll try not to talk about sport for a bit on this blog.... :-)

I see Eddie Jones has declaed his interest. I liked one comment on the web: "I'd prefer to see Tom Jones have a go"!

According to the UK media, Eddie Jones has committed himself to Queensland until the end of the season there, ie May 2007.

Rob Andrew has apparently said that he will be making a recommendation to the RFU management board next week. Presumably that would mean an appointment in time for the Six Nations, rather than earlier reports that no appointment would be made until after. Player quotes suggest that Dean Richards would be their preference.

I've heard from an Aussie that the real reason John Mitchell was sacked was that he slept with one of the All Blacks partners...allegedly.
