monk festival

We were lucky enough to be staying in Surat Thani on the evening of the annual festival where monks parade down to the sea front in boats or trailers which are decorated as temples and the locals come to put money in the pots and be blessed by the monks. There was also a show of traditional dancers, singers and a thai band...

A bit of a shocker was the monks spraying water at you as you walked past them which was a little unexpected at first, but after walking up and down a few times, Ed made the suggestion that we could now have a 'wet T-shirt competition'.. I despair!
