Marmite

We've decided that India is a little bit like marmite - you either love it or hate it, often on consecutive days. Sorry that I can't put up our photos - it's a bit hit and miss how modern the internet cafes are and this one won't help me out...

What have we been up to and what will we post about when we can?
I have done an Incredible Hulk impression...we have both read a 500 page book about what drives people to murder (does this make us a bit sick?!)...we have stayed in the beautiful lakeside town of Udaipur and seen some great sites there...we have been disappointed with Jaipur where the sites haven't been up to much....but we had lunch today in a revolving restaurant 14 floors up which gave good views over the town....we have had to get aggressive with a few beggars, often women and children, because they physically tug at you (one child even pinched Michelle's bum!)...we very reluctantly took part in the festival of Holi yesterday which involved lots of drunk men covering us in powder paint (much like these pics) and trying to molest both of us (ok, so me much less than Michelle, but honestly - both of us)...we met a guy called Ali G....were involved in our first auto rickshaw accident, although only very minor in that a young cyclist clipped my knee as he drove past and fell off his bike, but he wasn't injured...
We are off on a train journey to Jaisalmer tonight that leaves at midnight and gets there at 3pm tomorrow...once there we are likely to go on a camel safari if we can find someone we trust to take us...
Oh yeah, and I almost forgot, we're looking into nipping over to the Maldives for a week or two before we come back!

A 15-hour train journey in India doesn't look much fun - what class are you travelling this time? Do you have to change at Jodhpur or does one train go all the way?
Enjoy your camel safari if you go: I think most westerners find them uncomfortable and uncooperative beasts.
If you go to the Maldives where will you fly from?

15 hours is small fry - we did 19 and a half yesterday to get to Delhi from Jaisalmer....but we are going "3AC" on sleeper trains which means that it's fine....we won't make the mistake of going 2nd class again.

The camel safari was fun...mostly because we met some really nice people.

The Maldives....there is somewhere beginning with T (a long name) on the Indian South West coast which we can fly from if we go.
