Cricket in Melbourne anyone?

I realise this is unlikely, but is anyone reading this going to be, or could be, in Melbourne on 27th and 28th December and want to watch the cricket? It looks likely that we'll now have 2 spare tickets for both days (having thought we wouldn't have any for a while) so get in touch if you're keen....

It's just as well you don't have tickets for the 4th and 5th days, as it doesn't look as if pathetic England will last that long!

It's a shame you had to watch such a pitiful display. Our players seem to show neither pride nor passion in their performance. While we all expected to lose to the Aussies on their home ground, I did expect our team to put up more of a fight. I think there now need to be wholesale changes in both management and players, although I have to admit there aren't vast numbers pressing for places in the squad. English cricket (or maybe English sport in general, thinking of rugby and soccer as well) needs to look at itself pretty closely: the answer is certainly NOT more Mickey-Mouse-type gimmicks like Twenty-20.

We've got a poor captain (not that I know of a more suitable candidate) - great bowler though he is - and we picked the wrong team for all games as far as i was concerned.

But basically they are better than us, both in pure skill and mentally. No shame in that as they have some all time great players - Ponting, Gilchrist, McGrath and Warne for definite - and you could possibly add Hayden to that.

It's now a great time to bet on England winning the next Ashes though...
